Write That Novel!
“Everyone has a story to tell. Everyone is a writer, some are written in the books and some are confined to hearts.”
― Savi Sharma, Everyone Has A Story
Our sessions are created to be safe spaces for creativity and encouragement. Participants will develop story ideas and learn how to transform them into novels. Sessions will focus on creating compelling characters and rich settings that make the story come alive. We will dive into developing conflict, plot, and dialogue and get feedback on draft in an upbeat, supportive environment.
Session One – The Idea Stage
In our first session, we’ll dive into the idea development. You know that spark of inspiration swirling around in your head? It may very well be a novel premise! We’ll inspire each other, brainstorm ideas, and turn those sparks into story foundations. Get ready to let your imagination into the beginnings of a page-turner!
Session Two – Characters and Place
Get ready to bring your story to life in our second session. This time, we’ll be creating protagonists and setting the stage for their journeys. Imagine crafting a hero or heroine so compelling that readers identify and feel deeply for them. And what about the backdrop? We’ll place our characters into settings so rich and detailed they’ll feel as real as your own backyard. So, come prepared to dream up some extraordinary characters and design the perfect world for them to inhabit!
Session Three – Conflict, Dialogue, and Starting Your First Chapter
Our second session is all about the drama! We will jump into the heart-pounding world of compelling conflict, riveting plot development, and authentic dialogue. We’ll explore how to keep readers on the edge of their seats, breathlessly turning pages to see what happens next. Get ready to craft plots that twist and turn and dialogue that leaps off the page!
Session Four – Feedback on Chapter 1
Our final session is all about feedback and polishing those first chapters. Picture a lively roundtable where we share our work, cheer each other on, and offer tips to make those opening scenes hook in readers. We’ll have constructive critiques, celebrating strengths and spotting areas for improvement. So, bring your first chapter and get ready for some awesome, supportive feedback that’ll take your writing to the next level!
